InfoBurst supports publication of Business Objects reports in numerous formats and delivery to multiple locations. One very popular format is HTML to Email. HTML generated by Business Objects is nicely rendered inline in the email message.
Business Objects XIR2/XI3.x use Pixel Perfect HTML to accurately render a report that may contain multiple charts and graphs. This is a rigid form of HTML that is not rendered consistently across various email clients. This issue presents a challenge when the goal is to deliver reports to email recipients where the email client is not consistent.
A large pharmaceuticals distributor recently approach InfoSol when faced with this delivery challenge. Their requirement was to deliver Web Intelligence reports to hundreds of recipients, all using various email clients including Gmail, Outlook 2007 and the Blackberry. The rendering of the reports varied significantly.
The InfoBurst development team looked at the requirement and devised a unique solutions. Instead of delivery HTML generated by Business Objects, InfoBurst exacts a PDF version of the report, captures the pages as images and delivers the images as PNG. The images are embedded in the email message so the result is just like inline HTML. With PNG the rendering of the report is consistent regardless of the viewers email client.
